The Victorian Government funds the Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants, which to date have funded 571 projects. The program funds Victorian schools, Scouts and other youth groups to run projects that involve and educate young people in valuing and actively caring for Victoria’s biodiversity and natural environment.
Celebrating Landcare Week, Bob Hawke’s granddaughter and Landcare 30 Years ambassador Sophie Taylor-Price announced the Landcare Youth Summit in Wentworth NSW.
The Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants program launched in 2018 and has already engaged more than 400,000 students and supported over 4,900 primary schools and early learning centres to help get children hands-on with caring for the natural environment. Woolworths also supports the Junior Landcare Learning Centre to help educators across the country run Junior Landcare projects that link with curriculum and framework outcomes.
In March 2019, we announced that 538 primary schools and early learning centres throughout Australia had received our first ever Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants.
