Make a vertical garden from plastic bottles
Category: Newsletter

At a recent visit to Kegworth Public School in Leichhardt, NSW we couldn’t resist taking photos of these fantastic hanging planters.  A great project to do at home or school – recycling plastic bottles and using them as a space-saving way to grow herbs and other plants.

Our photo shows the bottles hanging horizontally, but you can also arrange them vertically. It’s important to use plastic bottles that will allow sunlight to shine through. Because of this, clear bottles (or very light colours such as light green) are best for this project. Plus, only use plastics that are free from BPA and other potentially harmful chemicals.

Garden Tabs has a great video to help you Make a Vertical Garden from Plastic Bottles.
