Bees play a massive role in farming. They pollinate crops, increase yields, and give rise to a lucrative honey industry. They’re so important in fact, that over one third of the food we eat relies on pollination by bees either directly or indirectly.

And Junior Landcare’s Costa Georgiadis has all the buzz on bees and other insects. Our wildlife and gardening guru gives us the lowdown on why it’s crucial to leave plants undisturbed during their life cycle so insects, like the cluster bees can lay their eggs on plants leaves and collect seeds to pollinate and create new habitats with new plants.
