2023 Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants Round

In 2023, Woolworths partnered with Junior Landcare to deliver a fifth round of the popular Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants program.

Open to primary schools and early learning centres across Australia, the grants provide children with the opportunity to get hands-on with nature and play an active role in caring for the natural environment.

This year, a total of 1,107 projects were awarded grants of up to $1,000 each that are set to engage close to 105,000 children in sustainable food production, waste management, enhancing native habitat and/or First Nations perspectives.

From Gorokan Public School’s ‘Sunshine Funtime’ project to build a solar powered hydroponic garden to promote sustainability to Pottsville Community Preschool Inc.’s ‘Our Country, Our Culture’ project to promote a meaningful and respectful yarning circle space for children and families, the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants program supports fun and engaging learning experiences that help kids to get outdoors and connect with their local environment.

The grant program is also supported by the Junior Landcare Learning Centre, an online platform supported by Woolworths, packed with learning activities, First Nations perspectives resources and fun project ideas to inspire even more hands-on learning.

Since launching in 2018, and including this grant round, the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants have funded a total of 4,921 projects, helping a more than 400,000 children to learn more about the natural environment, and the important role they can play in protecting its future.
