Congratulations to the 2021 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grant recipients

For the fourth year, Landcare Australia has partnered with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning to offer the 2021 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants.

In July 2021, Landcare Australia distributed $413,000 of funding from the Victorian Government to support 111 projects through this fantastic grants program.

Victorian primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, pre-schools, childcare centres, and youth groups were eligible to apply for these grants of up to $5,000 each.

Funded projects are supporting the next generation of Landcarers to protect biodiversity through on-ground action that improve and restore habitat for Victoria’s native plants and animals. Projects include activities that provide both environmental and educational outcomes, along with health and social benefits. The grants also contribute to the targets of Protecting Victoria’s Environment – Biodiversity 2037 – the Victorian Government’s plan to stop the decline of our native plants and animals and improve our natural environment.

Grant recipients will be completing their projects by mid-2022 and we look forward to seeing the educational, environmental and social outcomes.
